Dry ice blasting is priced by scope, not by a flat square-foot rate. The drivers are crew hours, media consumption at the nozzle, containment and filtration requirements, access difficulty, and whether the work is scheduled or emergency response. The hourly rate is usually higher and the total project cost is frequently lower. Sandblasting adds masking, grit reclamation, and disposal of spent abrasive mixed with contaminant. Dry ice removes those line items because the media disappears and no water is introduced.
